Understanding Variants and Data Updates

Variants

A variant is a unique combination of options on a product — for example, a T-shirt in Red / Medium is one variant. Your plan’s variant limit is the total number of variants SupplyMaster can create and manage in your Shopify store across all suppliers.

Monthly Data Updates

A data update (also called a "row update") is counted each time a single variant’s data is synced — whether that’s inventory, pricing, product fields, or any combination. For example, if you have 10,000 variants and run a daily sync, that’s roughly 300,000 updates per month (10,000 × 30 days).

Updates are counted whether the data actually changed or not — every variant processed in a sync counts toward your monthly total.

What Happens When You Hit a Limit

Variant Limit Reached

When your store reaches the variant limit for your plan, SupplyMaster will stop creating new products. Existing products continue to sync normally (inventory, pricing, and field updates still run). To resume creating new products, upgrade your plan or add a variant add-on.

Monthly Update Limit Reached

When your monthly data update limit is reached, syncs are paused for the remainder of the billing cycle. Your products remain in Shopify as-is, but inventory and pricing will not refresh until the next billing period or until you add an update add-on.

Add-On Plans

If you need more capacity without upgrading your base plan, add-ons are available:

Add-On

Price

What You Get

Extra Data Updates

$9/month

+100,000 variant updates per month

Extra Variants

$15/month

+5,000 variants

You can stack multiple add-ons. For example, if you need 20,000 extra variants, purchase four units of the variant add-on ($60/month total for +20,000 variants).

AI+ Enriched Data

AI+ is a one-time purchase of $99 per supplier type that unlocks AI-generated product content for that supplier. This is a lifetime purchase — once activated, it remains available as long as the app is installed.

AI+ generates:

  • SEO-optimized titles and meta descriptions

  • Multiple description formats (bulleted, short, medium, long)

  • Shopify-standard product categories

  • Auto-generated tags, material, and gender attributes

  • Clean URL handles

AI+ is available for all suppliers except Custom Supplier. To activate it, go to Edit Supplier > Product Settings > Match Fields and click the Enable AI+ Data button, or visit Manage Subscriptions > Lifetime Add-Ons.

Free Trial

Every plan includes a 5-day free trial. During the trial you have full access to all features — import products, set up syncing, configure field mapping, and test everything. You won’t be charged until the trial period ends.

New users may also be eligible for a 30% discount on their first billing cycle. If a discount is available, it will be shown on the plan selection screen during installation.
