Browsing & Searching the Supplier Catalog

The Browse Catalog tab lets you visually explore your supplier's full product catalog before importing anything.

Updated this week

The Browse Catalog tab lets you visually explore your supplier's full product catalog before importing anything. Search by product title or style number, filter by brand, and save your selections directly to your import filters.

Opening Browse Catalog

  1. From the Manage Suppliers page, click the supplier name or click View in the Actions column.

  2. Select the Browse Catalog tab.

Browse Catalog is available for all standard supplier types. It is not available for custom suppliers.

Searching Products

Use the search bar at the top of the catalog to find products by title or style number. Type your search term and the results will update automatically after a short delay.

You can also narrow results by brand using the Brand dropdown. Select a brand to show only products from that brand, or clear the selection to see all brands.

Search and brand filtering work together — for example, searching "Hoodie" with the brand set to "Gildan" will show only Gildan hoodies.

Grid View & List View

Toggle between two display modes using the icons in the top-right corner of the catalog:

  • Grid view — shows products as image cards in a 3-column layout. Each card displays the product image, brand badge, title, product ID, and variant count.

  • List view — shows products in a table with columns for Image, Title, Brand, Product ID, Variants, and an Import checkbox.

Both views support product selection. Use whichever layout you prefer — grid view is better for visual browsing, while list view is faster for scanning large catalogs.

Selecting Products

To mark products for import, check the Import checkbox on each product you want. In grid view, the checkbox appears on the product card. In list view, it appears in the rightmost column.

Products that are already in your import filters show an Added badge instead of a checkbox. You don't need to select these again.

Use the pagination controls at the bottom to move through the catalog. Your selections are preserved as you navigate between pages.

Saving Selections to Import Filters

Once you've selected the products you want, click Save to Import Filters. This adds your selected products to your existing product import filters. Specifically:

  • The selected products are added as a product filter using the Equal To Any condition on the product's unique key.

  • If you already have a matching filter, the new products are appended to it rather than creating a duplicate.

  • Your existing filters are preserved — the new products are merged in alongside whatever filters you already have.

After saving, the catalog refreshes and the newly added products will show the Added badge.

To clear your current selections without saving, click Clear Selection.

Tips

  • Browse first, then refine. Use Browse Catalog to discover products you want, save them to your import filters, and then fine-tune with manual filter conditions. See our How to Filter Products for Import article for filter details.

  • Combine with manual filters. Products saved from Browse Catalog merge with your existing filters. You can mix catalog selections with brand, size, or color filters for precise control.

  • Products are not imported yet. Saving to import filters only configures which products will be imported when you click Import Products. See our Importing Products to Your Shopify Store article for the import process.
